FAQ

What’s the difference between a cutting board and a work board?

A cutting board is usually the everyday all-rounder. A work board is often larger and/or thicker – ideal if you prep a lot and want an especially stable work surface.

What size do you recommend for a work & cutting board?

For comfortable prep, we recommend a length of at least around 40 cm for work boards. That gives you enough space for vegetables, meat and larger quantities without feeling cramped.

Which shapes can I find in this category?

You’ll find, among others, live-edge (natural) boards, round cutting boards, boards with a handle, and sturdy end-grain chopping blocks. There are also knife boards and wood-slice styles – functional and decorative.

When is a juice groove useful?

Which wood species are available?

Our work & cutting boards are made from European woods such as maple, beech, oak, ash, alder, cherry and walnut. Each wood has its own character – from light and subtle to dark and distinctive.

Are the boards sustainable?

We focus on European woods and durable craftsmanship. Many items are also labeled FSC® certified when the respective product is certified.

How do I clean a wooden cutting board properly?

Wash with warm water, a little mild dish soap and a soft sponge. Dry thoroughly and ideally let it air-dry upright. Please don’t soak the board.

Is a wooden cutting board dishwasher-safe?

No. Dishwashers, prolonged moisture and high heat can warp wood or cause cracks. Please clean by hand only.

Do I need to oil the board?

If the surface looks dry, occasional oiling with a food-safe oil is recommended. It protects the wood and brings out the grain beautifully.
