Oak (like ash) is a coarse-grained wood. After the first rinse, you may notice that the fibers slightly rise. This is a natural process – with continued use, the fibers will break off and the board will become smooth again.

Oiling

To keep the surface smooth and resilient, we recommend treating the wood regularly with a natural oil – such as cold-pressed linseed oil. The oil protects against moisture, enhances the wood grain, and gives it a warm appearance.

Apply the oil sparingly to the clean, dry surface using a soft cloth. Wipe off any excess after about 15 minutes and allow it to dry completely – ideally overnight.
